Applications and Properties of Wood Fiber
The so-called Wood fiber Yes Refers to an organic, flocculent fibrous material obtained by chemically treating and mechanically processing natural, renewable wood; such materials are characterized by being non-toxic, odorless, pollution-free, and non-radioactive, among other properties.
Features:
1. Lignocellulose is insoluble in water, weak acids, and alkaline solutions; it has a neutral pH and can enhance the system’s corrosion resistance.
2. Lignocellulose has a low bulk density and a large specific surface area, exhibiting excellent thermal insulation, heat resistance, sound insulation, electrical insulation, and breathability; it also demonstrates uniform thermal expansion without cracking or flaking, as well as superior wet-film strength and coverage.
3. Lignocellulose exhibits excellent flexibility and dispersibility; upon blending, it forms a three-dimensional network structure that enhances the system’s load-bearing capacity and durability, thereby improving its stability, strength, compactness, and uniformity.
4. The structural viscosity of wood fibers helps maintain the homogeneity of the processed precast slurry (both dry and wet mixes) in its original state, while reducing system shrinkage and expansion, thereby significantly improving the dimensional accuracy of construction work or prefabricated components.
5. Wood fibers exhibit excellent freeze-resistant and heat-resistant properties: they can provide thermal insulation for several days at 150°C, for dozens of hours at 200°C, and for several hours even above 220°C.
Main uses:
Wood fiber has a wide range of applications, primarily including water-resistant putty powder, exterior wall insulation mortar, mineral mortar, tile adhesive, wall mortar, PVC filtration, mineral mortar, relief coatings, and interior and exterior wall coatings, among others.
