Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose HP cellulose is commonly used in the production of internal and external wall putty powder with 100000 viscosity of cellulose, commonly used in dry powder mortar, diatom mud and other building materials products with 200000 viscosity of cellulose, self-leveling and other special mortar with 400 viscosity of cellulose, the product has good water retention effect, good thickening effect and stable quality. HP cellulose in the building materials industry has a very wide range of uses, the amount of cellulose can be used as a retarder, water retention agent, thickener and binder. In ordinary dry-mixed mortar, exterior wall insulation mortar, self-leveling mortar, dry powder plaster adhesive, tile bonding mortar, putty powder, interior and exterior wall putty, waterproof mortar, thin layer joints and other materials, cellulose ether plays an important role, they have an important influence on the water retention, water demand, firmness, retarding and construction of the plaster system.
Commonly used cellulose ethers include HEC, HP cellulose, C cellulose, PAC, MHEC, and the like. Non-ionic water-soluble cellulose ethers have adhesion, dispersion stability and water retention capacity, and are useful additives for building materials. HP cellulose, cellulose or EHEC is used in most cement-based or gypsum infrastructure, such as masonry mortar, cement mortar, cement coating, gypsum, cementitious mixture and emulsion putty, etc., can enhance the dispersion of cement or sand, greatly improve the adhesion, which is very important for gypsum, tile cement and putty. HEC is used in cement, not only as a retarder, but also as a water retaining agent, and HEHPC is also used in this regard. Cellulose or HEC is often used as a strong part of wallpaper and C cellulose. Medium or high viscosity cellulose ethers are commonly used in wallpaper gluing building materials.
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose HP cellulose products combine many physical and chemical properties to become a unique product with multiple uses. The various properties are as follows:
(1) water retention: it can be in the wall cement board, brick and other porous surface, can maintain water.
(2) Film formation: It can form a transparent, tough and soft film with excellent grease resistance.
(3) Organic Solubility: The product is soluble in some organic solvents, such as ethanol/water, propanol/water, dichloroethane and a solvent system composed of two organic solvents.
(4) Thermal gelation: The aqueous solution of the product is heated to form a gel, and the formed gel becomes a solution again after cooling.
(5) Surface activity: providing surface activity in solution to achieve the required emulsification and protective colloid, and phase stabilization.
(6) Suspension: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose prevents the precipitation of solid particles and thus suppresses the formation of precipitates.
(7) Protective colloid: It can prevent droplets and particles from coalescing or condensing.
(8) binding: used as a pigment, tobacco products, paper products adhesive, with excellent function.
(9) Water Solubility: The product can be dissolved in water in different amounts, the maximum concentration of which is limited only by viscosity.
(10) non-ionic inert: the product is a non-ionic cellulose ether, does not combine with metal salts or other ions to form insoluble precipitates.
(11) acid-base stability: suitable for use in a PH3.0-11.0 range.
(12) Taste-free and odorless, not affected by metabolism; used as additives for food and drugs, they will not be metabolized in food and will not provide heat.
