Permeable concrete, also known as porous concrete. In the United States, permeable concrete generally does not contain fine aggregate, called no fine aggregate concrete. In the United States, Florida, New Mexico and Utah have used non-fine aggregate concrete as pavement surface material for parking area sections, and many states have stipulated and experimented with laying cement concrete permeable base under pavement surface for rapid drainage. France also uses a large amount of permeable concrete in the construction of tennis courts, and 60% of its tennis courts are built with permeable concrete. In addition, permeable concrete is also used in slope protection and greening zones to create a good ecological environment on both sides of the river. Japan's Yuji Yuji and Yoshihiro Okamoto have conducted systematic research on permeable concrete with cement as cementitious material, and used it in practical projects such as roads and squares in parks. The thickness is generally 70~200mm, the water-cement ratio is about 0.35mm, and the gravel with 5~13mm or 2.5~7mm grain size is used to provide a comfortable and interesting road environment for pedestrians to play and walk.
The research on pervious concrete in China started late and is still in the initial stage of research and development. In 1995, the China Academy of Building Materials Science took the lead in the development of permeable concrete in China and achieved certain results. Using the same raw materials as ordinary concrete, the molding method is mostly pressed, and the compressive strength of the prepared permeable concrete can generally reach about 20MPa. In 2000, Yang Jing and Jiang Guoliang from the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University used the method of mixing silica fume to increase the compressive strength of permeable concrete to 35.5MPa and the permeability coefficient to 2.9 mm/s, making a breakthrough. Generally speaking, China's current production of water permeable concrete market is mixed, about its water permeability, plant understanding is not consistent, to make the concrete is generally recognized and popularize the application also need to do a lot of work, and select high-quality materials and professional construction team.
