The principle of using grouting material in soil reinforcement can be described as follows: the prepared slurry is sent to the soil layer to be reinforced by using a special double-liquid grouting system. The slurry first fills the cracks of the soil (does not enter between particles) and sets quickly. After the cracks are "blocked", the grouting pressure rises automatically, causing "hydraulic cracking" of the soil. The slurry enters along the cracks and sets quickly, the inlet channel is also "blocked", thus creating a new splitting surface. At the same time, with the continuous entry of high-strength grouting material, the initial setting of the slurry squeezes the soil on the split surface, causing the soil particles to move, rearrange and then dehydrate. The above processes do not occur one by one, but almost simultaneously, and are repeated continuously and densely in the same way in different parts within a certain range, so that the reinforced soil can fully receive the dual effects of splitting grouting and compaction grouting. However, to obtain this effect, it is not necessary to have the higher grouting pressure necessary for splitting grouting and compaction grouting, and generally, the grouting pressure of 0.1 ~ 0.5MPa can be used to make all kinds of soils fully into the grout. The controllability of the solidification time of the grouting material makes the soil prone to "hydraulic cracking", and at the same time, the slurry will not "run" too far and cause waste.
